The Ice Board in action
Hi,
I’m a guy from the Netherlands and i want to build a ice board just like yours because the look very cool 🙂
I wish to know how the blades are made, how they are attached to the iron, because i don’t see any bolds. Do you have any picture or drawingplans of the skates?
I hope to hear from you so i can make my own ice board.
Regards,
J. van der Wolf
Hi J,
I’m using skates as blades. But the construction is prepared for a more traditionall blade solution (Check your mail).
Use aluminium L-profiles and iron blades 300 mm * 60 mm * 4 mm. I will make such a solution within a few days.
I will also add a information about my new down-hill trucks, if you prioritise speed over maneuverability that is… Regards : ) Claes
Hi Claes,
great project! I have used an mountainboard with 4 skates for an ice-surfer but I have to say that this project is very nice. Please see if you can make some more detailed pictures. Especialy about the skates. There is not a lot of info to find on the net about making Ice-surfers.
I am curious about your experience withe the mountainboard trucks. Why did you change to them? Speed-wobble?
Aloha,
Martijn de Ruijter
Netherlands
Hi Martijn,
I will post more detailed pictures. About the Original S10; they work really great for carving and slalom but starts to feel a bit nervous when you reach 30 knots especially when you release the pressure from the rigg and board. Speed wobbling seams to be a wide spread problem even for the production boards. Whats your experience when it comes to speed wobbles? Curious about your board, any pictures? ) The weather conditions looks great for this weekend, hopfully I will be able to test the Caliber trucks at high speed.
Uppdate;
