JP Slalom Racing VIII 2012 Test

JP Slalom Racing VIII 2012 Test

JP Slalom PRO 2012 ReviewFor 2012 the JP slalom has got a wider tail and new rocker lines. All the sizes have individually designed cut-outs to maximize performance, speed/maneuverability.
Antoine Albeau (JP / Neil Pryde) scored second place on the PWA tour 2011 with the JP Slalom VIII 2012. Micah Buzianis (JP / Neil Pryde) finished on sixth place with the same setup.

The JP Slalom Range is divided into following two groups:

JP Slalom for S, M and L riders

Width 56 cm / Liter 81
Width 66 cm / Liter 108
Width 78 cm / Liter 130

The line made for smaller riders is longer and a bit thinner throughout. They are easier to jibe and more forgiving.

JP Slalom for XL, XXL and XXXL riders

Width 59 cm / Liter 96
Width 68 cm / Liter 118
Width 84 cm / Liter 140

The line is designed for guys like Antoine Albeau and Micah Buzianis.

JP Slalom 2012 – The Shapes

Both JP Slalom lines are equipped with a new tail shape. This wider tail delivers better low end performance and acceleration and additionally provides a more parallel, comfortable and powerful stance in combination with the refined race deck.

The JP Slalom 78 and 84 have a flat panel vee throughout the hull for maximum lift and performance. The JP Slalom 66 and 68 have additional concaves in the mid section of the board to support a more comfortable and stable ride, while the JP Slalom 56 and 59 are equipped with double concaves running into a flat V at the tail.

Windsurf (UK) March 2012 – JP Slalom VIII 118 test 2012

The JP Slalom 2012 really thrives on power and the more you push it, the more it rewards you, never running out of juice and just continuing to accelerate. At high speed the JP Slalom deals extremely well with chop and is devastatingly fast on the straights in all conditions. Round the corners it holds its speed very well and tracks nicely through the carve, favouring a more committed gybing style and a slightly wider arc. The JP Slalom is not a particularly technical board to ride but the more powerful and focused riders will certainly get the most out of it on the racecourse.

JP Slalom VII 112 2011 testThe JP Slalom VII 2011 is a straight line rocket and really fast around the corners, if you are skilled enough that is…

JP Slalom 2011 – PWA Winner 2010

The JP Slalom VII 2011 is Antoine Albeau´s winner boards from the PWA tour 2010, and like the Starboard iSonic 2011 pretty hard-core when it comes to gybing. The JP Slalom Range is divided into following two groups:

JP Slalom for small, medium and large riders
Width 56 / Liter 81
Width 65 / Liter 101
Width 76 / Liter 121

The line made for smaller riders is longer and a bit thinner throughout. They are easier to jibe and more forgiving.

JP Slalom for XL, XXL and XXXL riders
Width 59 cm / Liter 92
Width 68 cm / Liter 112
Width 82 cm / Liter 132

The line is designed for guys like Antoine Albeau.

Jp Slalom VII – To Hard Core?

If you are looking for a more durable and forgiving board, have look at JPs Freerace board JP Super Sport 2010 or the more Freeride oriented JP x-cite Ride 2011/2012.

Windsurf (UK) March 2011 – JP Slalom VII 112 test 2011

The bottom shape. In the hull there are double concaves in the front for acceleration, into flat vee in the tail for control at top speed.

There really doesn’t seem to be a limit to the top end of JP Slalom and it is very easy to exploit, you just need to hold on tight! When you get to the corners, the JP Slalom maintains good speed through the gybe. It is not however the most forgiving in the turns, so you might be left playing catch up on the straights.

Windsurfing (US) June 2011 – JP Slalom VII 76

Comfortable at max speed Quick to plane, light and lively at top speed. Low nose volume makes it difficult to tack.

Surf Magazin (Germany) June 2011 – JP Slalom VII 82
